We are off. All training updated, we are fully certified, NHS and private boxes ticked, leaflets and banners up, vaccines arrived and safely in the fridge……..September and October have taken on a new meaning for pharmacies over the last three years. We can give flu vaccines privately and on the NHS to eligible patient groups. I must admit I was hesitant to take on the training a few years ago but am now willing to administer to any willing participants. It’s a great new skill for us and so well appreciated by our customers. The biggest compliment is to have a customer surprised that it’s all done and they haven’t realised. The service plays to pharmacy’s strength of no appointment or special trip needed to access expert advice and a quiet consultation room.
Attached is an infographic (new word for me) on flu by Alphega, a reputable source, and I am feeling pretty proud of myself for developing such technological skills. I have so much to tell you I will be back soon.
